"The Secret of Things" Exhibition at Museum Heichal Shlomo, Jerusalem June - July 2018

 

The Secret of Things, it is a retrospective that encompasses thirty years of a rich work by Sigal Adelman. A secret, as a personal journey of an artist who looks into the eye examines and feels about what's going on inside her as a woman who "crossed the lines" and wandered between worlds into an unknown land. A woman creates a movement in the space and time between streams, events, landscapes and nuances that constitute the fabric of life here, in this place, and can for them .. on her camera.

The exhibition reflects the quality of Sigal's versatile artwork, along with content that ranges from personal to universal. With the metaphorical flash of her camera, Edelman illuminates corners that are not sufficiently illuminated in the reality of our lives here, and, on the other, also lanes whose cobblestones are worn by many, many people who walk long. Indeed, the subjects of the photography series  concern the Israeli public as a whole, but also to every person. Issues related to stigma in Israeli society, questions of identity related to gender, sector and belief, life cycle and more. Exhibition in the secret is very visually rich and program and invites us to encounter topics that are seemingly far from our everyday world but are actually connected to our inner world. It allows a gathering of art as a discourse whose ripples are expanding, permeating and absorbed in the mind and consciousness that experience it as an aside for a long way. בסוד הדברים הינה תערוכת רטרוספקטיבה המקיפה שלושים שנות יצירה עשירות של סיגל אדלמן. סוד, כמסע אישי של אמנית המתבוננת בעין בוחנת ורגישה על המתרחש בתוכה פנימה כאשה ש"חצתה את הקווים" ונדדה בין עולמות אל ארץ לא נודעת. אשה יוצרת הנעה במרחב ובזמן שבין זרמים, התרחשויות, נופים וניואנסים המהווים את מארג החיים כאן, במקום הזה, ויכולה להם.. במצלמתה.

בתערוכה באים לידי ביטוי איכות היצירה הרבגונית של אדלמן יחד עם תכני עומק הנעים בין האישי לאוניברסאלי. בעזרת המבזק המטאפורי של מצלמתה, מאירה אדלמן פינות שלא מוארות דיין במציאות חיינו כאן, ומאידך, גם נתיבים שאבני המרצפת שלהם שחוקות מרוב המון אדם שפוסע בם זמן רב. ואכן, נושאי סדרות הצילומים נוגעים לקהל הישראלי בכללותו אך גם לכל אדם באשר הוא. נושאים הקשורים לסטיגמות בחברה הישראלית, לשאלות של זהות הקשורות למגדר, מגזר ואמונה, למעגל החיים ועוד.

תערוכת בסוד הדברים עשירה מאד מבחינה ויזואלית ותכנית ומזמנת לנו אפשרות למפגש עם נושאים שלכאורה רחוקים מעולמנו היומיומי אך למעשה מחוברים לעולמנו הפנימי. היא מאפשרת מפגש של אמנות כשיח שאדוותיו מתרחבות והולכות, מחלחלות ונספגות בנפש ובתודעת החווים אותה כצידה לדרך ארוכה.
